Another long weekend for the month of June – planned a hike para masulit ang long weekend. Off we go to Mt. Binacayan at Rodriguez, Rizal. Day hike lang at isa lang, di pa keri ng powers ang twin hike lalo na ang trilogy. Together with my highschool and college friend’s sister and friend we did a DIY hike (as always); Ida, Meyeh, Merose, and Agnes – Girl Power! haha. It is a budget friendly hike for less than Php 500 for the transpo, guide, and fees. This is probably the most fun and chill hike I’ve ever been, kahit na nakakasuka at nakakahilo na ang init ng panahon (haha).

Call time was supposed to be 5AM at Jollibee Farmers, but we’re not really in a hurry. We took the van going to Rodriguez, Rizal around 6-6:30AM and it was just an hour or less ride to Rodriguez, Rizal, then tricycle to Brgy.Wawa for the registration at the barangay hall/ tourism office. Paid for registration and donation fee, our designated guide was Kuya Wowie. Sabi nga nya “hindi ko kayo papahirapan sa pag-akyat, papahirapan ko kayo sa pagpili ng profile picture nyo”, and true enough almost all were picturesque.

I really wasn’t aware of the time, we’re just so chill that we only saw few fellow hikers and pababa na sila. Iilan nalang kasabay naming paakyat. Wearing gloves is a must dahil panay rockies ito mga bes, masakit sa kamay ang mga bato (you can buy gloves at the stores sa may registration for only Php 25 – Php 60, depends on the quality). Hindi kami nagmamadali that we have so may stopovers para makapahinga (it was so hot that day! tirik na tirik and araw) and picture-taking. We’re really happy with our guide, no pressure at very supportive sa buwis buhay picture taking moments. At dahil halos kami lang ang tao sa summit, unlimited ang time for picture taking.

Never ending Rockies

8th Climb… 12 more!

Fear of heights? Nah!

With our guide – Kuya Wowie

At around 2PM we’re on our way back to the jump off, may nagbabadya ng ulan, ang dilim na ng langit at may kulog na. It took us an hour to the main jump-off, just in time dahil pagdating namin sa tindahan bumuhos ang napakalakas na ulan. Then, we just wash off and let the rain subside before going home. Trike from Brgy.Wawa to Van terminal going to Cubao.
